Project Themes
In order to direct crystallisation processes with a degree of control comparable to biology, we need to conduct our experiments under well-defined reaction conditions, and to be able to characterise the crystallisation pathway. We also need to use cutting-edge characterisation methods to study crystallisation over multiple length and time-scales. DYNAMIN is meeting this challenge through four Themes.
Theme 1: Controlling the Early Stages of Crystallisation in Droplets
Theme 2: Crystallisation within Defined Micro-environments: The Crystal Hotel
Theme 3: Dynamic Control of Self-Assembling Biomolecules
Theme 4: Material Synthesis Triggered by the Transformation of Amorphous Precursors
